In Recorder, Lichtenstein embarks on an ambitious three-part series of images that recycle and reorient themselves within the limits of technology and photographic vision. These works are layered with ink, program errors, exaggerations and obfuscations, eventually liberating her source material into pure free-form visual abstraction.
To develop further Lichtenstein's circular images, we created a 100-page booklet where three recycled paper stocks intertwine and loop, dissecting the three bodies of work that constitute Recorder. A unique quadruple-folded cover creates a contrast between the slick and DIY qualities of Lichtenstein's work.
